Annually Friends of the Ravines sponsors a Community Forum that is open to the public at no charge. Each forum focuses on ravine related issues.

  • 2011 – Birding in Ravines of Central Ohio.  Speaker:  John Watts, Metro Parks Resource Manager, avid birder, experienced naturalist, and talented nature photographer.
  • 2010 – The Lure and Lore of Clintonville Ravines.  Speakers:  Algy McBride, President of the Clintonville Historical Society;  Richard Barrett, The Columbus Historical Society, The Clintonville Historical Society, and Vice President of the Reynoldsburg-Truro Historical Society
  • 2009 – Mosquito Control—Is Fogging the (only) Answer?  Speakers:  Mary Daniels, Public Health Entomologist, Ohio Department of Health;  Joe Harrod, Vector Specialist/Program Coordinator, Columbus Public Health Department; Frank Reed, Esq, spoke on how EPA rulings on pesticides affects communities.  Discussion moderator, Jeff Frontz.
  • 2008 - Report from Rec and Parks Director Alan McKnight and City Councilwoman Priscilla Tyson
    Cindy Decker, Home & Garden and Travel Editor for the Columbus Dispatch had a talk titled "The Changing American Landscape"
  • 2007 - Preparing For Spring:  How to Turn Your Backyard into a Wildlife Sanctuary.  National Wildlife Ambassadors Toni Stahl and Marc Apfelstadt told how they turned their yard into a native plant habitat that attracts a wide variety of birds, insects, and other critters.
  • 2006 - Developing a Vision for Glen Echo Ravine from the Conrail Tracks to the Olentangy River. Guest Speakers:  Cyane Gresham, Pasquali Grado, Sue Wightman, and Rose Conrad
  • 2003 – Guest Speakers: Richard C. Pfeiffer, Columbus City Attorney and John Husted, Glen Echo Restoration Spokesperson.
